BMW introduce the concept design for the new generation 8-series Gran Coupe
The first generation of the BMW 8-series was released in production for 10 years, from 1989 to 1999. With only two optional engines the one was a V8 and the other one was the first V12 engine that offers a 6-speed manual gearbox on a road car. The sporty stylish look was one and only coupe design or a Grand Tourer (GT) with sharp edges, luxuries interior with a rear wheel drive and only two doors.
Design of the BMW M8
The second-generation 8-series and BMW M8 have the all new design and chassis from the previous model. The Bavarian manufacturer said the new Gran Coupe come with sophisticated color to reveal the spirit. In addition to be recognizable by its dynamic look and specific body structure. As they say the idea for the color (flip-flop paint finish) came from the beautiful nature or the Northern-Light, the natural phenomenon known as Aurora. This color of the new BMW M8 has a special effect that change its color depending on the viewing angle.
The separated front grill is BMW most recognizable detail, with huge and powerful air inlets and yellowish LED color. The newest style Headlights as well as the back side of the 8-series is powered by LED tail lights which only be available for the second generation of BMW 8-series. The overall body structure of the new BMW M8 is designed to compete with the most luxuries and sportiest car manufacturers in its segment worldwide. They announced that this type of 8-series will get the both two doors coupe, and four door sedan style as an option there will be a convertible too.
Specifications and Drivetrain
There where rumors from the previous model or the first generation long time before about the M-Performance package which they didn’t make one, but for this second generation they did confirmed an BMW M8 or M-Performance package will be available for the enthusiasts for greater power and handling. As we believe they will be a couple of variety engines for this particular model:
- 3-liter straight six 6-cyl turbocharged petrol engine(B58) with 335 hp and 450 nm of torque
- 4.4-liter V8 8-cyl BiTurbo petrol engine(N63) with 600 hp and 750 nm of torque, and we belive they might take it as an option the;
- BMW M8 Model 6.6 liter V12 12-cyl BiTurbo petrol engine(N74) with 624 hp and 800 nm of torque
