During the 18th International Motor Award of the Year held in Stuttgart , the international jury awarded the “Motor of the Year for 2017” prize on the Turbo-Gasoline engine Peugeot PureTech 1.2 liters with 3 cylinders in the category from 1 liter to 1.4 liters.

Commenting on the prize, Christian Chapel, vice president of the PSA Group’s Engine Engineering and Chassis Department, said “The whole purpose of having this award confirms the outstanding quality and performance of our petrol engines.
We are continuing to optimize internal combustion engines and we make them more efficient and more environmentally friendly, to better cope with the challenges of energy transition.
Third successful year for PureTech “Engine of the Year for 2017” award confirms the commercial success of this successful gasoline engine, available with 110 and 130 hp.
With more than 850,000 units already produced in the industrial facilities the annual production will exceed 1 million units by 2019, all driving performance, even at the lowest rpm, the PureTech 1.2 liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine continues to evolve and benefit from significant improvements before the end of 2017, with improvements in efficiency, performance and fuel consumption up to 4%.
This Peugeot PureTech Petrol engine will have a particular filter by reducing emissions for more than 75% in anticipation of future 2020 emission regulation standards in Europe and China.
They will implement an all new Turbocharger, that will reducing mechanical friction, performance optimization due to the evolution of the combustion cycle and fuel injection pressure of 250 bar and making the engine more compact to optimize the aerodynamics of the body.
