The all-electric french family sedan – The Renault Fluence ZE
Development and Design of the Renault Fluence ZE
Like most of the petrol and diesel models the Renault Fluence ZE shares same platform with their friends Nissan, same electric powertrain technology as with Nissan Leaf the Renault Fluence ZE is a bigger sized family sedan, like all-electric vehicles there on the market it has zero emissions.
The Fluence ZE. is 13 cm longer than the internal combustion model to accommodate the battery behind the rear seats which means it has bigger space inside the rear cabin, but unfortunately it has smaller boot instead.
This Renault Fluence ZE model comes with 4 doors and 5 seats, plenty of room for the back passengers or 3 kids if you using it as a family sedan car, thanks to the higher and longer cabin space with the flat bench on the back will provide equally seating position with lots of head room and knee room even for taller people.
The exterior of the Renault Fluence ZE is kinda identical at look of the body only its slightly modified front grill tha is removed thank to the electric powertrain technology like all of the EV’s specific aluminum rims, and the back light group that only works in LED technology.
The Fluence ZE does not have an “electric generator” like the small Citroen C-Zero and Nissan Leaf, driven a few days later. Simply, it served Renault as for the development of a new technology, and the only place where 280 kg of the lithium-ion batteries could be inserted later were found behind the rear seats.
Battery and Driving Range of the Renault Fluence ZE
The Renault Fluence ZE was built with a ”QuickDrop” battery switch system. The concept was based that instead of rapid-charging the car on longer journeys, owners could drive into a Quick Drop battery swap station and swap their flat batteries for a fully charged unit in under two minutes. The lithium-ion battery pack provides a 100 miles or 160 km/h driving range.
Specification and Performance for the Renault Fluence ZE
The Renault Fluence ZE is a very fun car to drive and easy to handle in corners but not much of a performance car if you go for the overall performance, as the EV’s in the same sedan class like the Tesla Model S or the Hyundai Ioniq EV it can reach from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.7 seconds front wheel drive, top speed electronically limited for 135 km/h with a 94 hp output power and 226 nm of torque.
Space and Comfort of the Renault Fluence ZE
The interior of the Renault Fluence ZE on the other hand is very familiar like the standard Renault Fluence model, the dashboard is same as the Renault Megan with soft touch materials, standard seats from the Fluence model, keyless entry, navigation screen, digital climate control, overall the interior itself is pleasant enough, with lots of space and the benefit of being very quiet due to the silent nature of electric power.
